Important Information – please read this before you populate this form.

This process is for somebody wishing to return back to the Isle of Man, who left the island after 6.30am on the 27 March 2020, and wishes to seek travel exemption on Compassionate Grounds. Those seeking to leave the Island are strongly advised to apply for this prior to leaving the Isle of Man, although you do not have to. However if you depart the Island and are not able to provide evidence of residency, this may delay your return to the Island.

In order to be considered, please review the accompanying guidelines under which your request will be considered.  If you cannot see details of your exact circumstances, please contact us on to discuss your situation.

You will only be allowed to travel back to the Isle of Man if you can demonstrate you are an Isle of Man resident (as defined in Regulation 7 (9) of the Regulations), that you left the Island after 6.30a.m. on 27th March 2020 and you are not showing any symptoms of Coronavirus.

Certain requirements apply including, but not limited, to:

  • Submitting to a Health check at Heysham before you travel back to the Island. If you are found to be unwell, or have a temperature, you will be unable to travel.
  • When you arrive in the Isle of Man you will be required to observe a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days.
    • If you are able to confirm that you have access to your own accommodation i.e. not shared with any other people already there (with the exception of an unaccompanied minor), then you will be able to undertake your quarantine there.
    • You will also need to confirm that you have a network available to provide support during your 14 day quarantine that is able to arrange for things like food supplies to be delivered to your doorstep.
    • If you are not able to meet this requirement you will have to undertake your quarantine in another premises (i.e. hotel, self-catered accommodation) agreed by Government in advance.

Please note under Regulation 13 (b) of the Regulations it is an offence to knowingly provide false or misleading information which is triable before the High Bailiff and is punishable on conviction with a fine not exceeding level 5, 3 months in custody or both.

To travel under the Emergency Powers (Coronavirus) (Entry Restrictions) (No.2) Regulations 2020 we ask you to provide us with some information about yourself. This is being collected:

  • To assess whether you can travel
  • Find out if you have any additional requirements we need to consider
